configurable material in a deep structure.

hi,

i hope you can help me, i have one issue, and it’s about a production order un second or third level.

the main kmat have a class that have one characteristic with 2 values, this value i need that will be used for select one of the 2 raw materials that it’s used for all one project.

so, the structure is.

-main kmat (level 1)

-kmat in the second level, (level 2)

-phantom E50 ( level 3)

-material E ( prefab part that it’s made by sheet metal) ( level 4)

-phantom E-50 (configurable material)(level 5)

-raw material 1

-raw material 2

the issue it’s that i can’t read the characteristic from the main kmat for select the raw material needed.

any idea? i my experience, it’s posible read the characteristics just in level 2 and 3, but before 3 i don’t have any idea how to do it.

Hi mafh,

There two SAP notes that are kind of vintage, but I would still suggest you review both and validate if the 'fix' would apply in your scenario.

I guess for the SAP note you will need a S-user.

There are two possibilities only.

1) if you have non configurable assembly in between , create variants

2) change the non configurable assembly to configurable assembly.

Hi,

Since, we are creating the production order for the E part , we cannot select the raw material based on the characteristics in kmat above the E part.

You may have to create two Variants of E containing the two raw materials and then select E based on the characteristics of root KMAT (1st level)

any suggestion? the issue it’s that we have in our actual structure hundred of e parts, and we are out of time for create all the e variant parts, and we want to find an easy way for fix this issue.

i was thinking that perhaps i can’t inherit the characteristic to the e parts, and add the the special class that define the raw material to all the e parts.
