Condition contract management set different document number ranges for accruals credit memos

Hello,

Is it possible to set different credit memos number ranges when using accruals, such that one number range is not transferred to financial accounting e.g. for accruals and the other real credit memo (e.g. created at partial and final settlements) has another number range which is then transferred to financial accounting?

Thank you!

Hi @Hadjolian ,

Yes, this is possible. In SAP Settlement Management, the number range for Settlement Documents is determined by the Settlement Document Type (field TMFK-NUMKI). This allows you to assign different number ranges for accrual documents and partial/final settlement documents.

From the FI side, you can configure whether the corresponding accounting document number range is internal or external, depending on your requirements.

That said, based on your recent posts, it seems you've just started working hands-on with SAP CCM over the past couple of weeks. That's great—and I’d encourage you to continue exploring! However, I would also recommend taking some time to review the standard SAP documentation, configuration guides, and best practices provided by SAP. These materials cover many of the foundational topics that have come up in your questions.

While it's always good to ask the community, please try to avoid posting multiple basic questions that can be answered through documentation and testing. You'll get much more value out of SAP CCM by experimenting in the system and understanding how the different components interact.

If possible, I’d also suggest connecting with someone more experienced in SAP CCM within your organization. Having a knowledgeable colleague to guide you through the core concepts can be incredibly helpful early on.

@GauthierVictor Thank you for the guidance, advices and I appreciate your expertise and quick responses! Yes, I agree with all this, but I didn't find this in the learning journeys and it should be there, there is only one place which mentions number range for sales types and no explanations, when/for what. I guess it will come in the notes and the config materials, will check best practices as well. I will further redirect my questions, seems here is more for troubleshooting.
