Compass - Simulation - Currency conversion not detected as driver

Hi community,

I would like to simulate the effects of changes of the currency conversion. By that I mean a change of the conversion rate from EUR to CHF from 0,9 instead of 0,94 for example.

Description of my test Model:

• I have created one measure (called "Measure_LC" for Local Currency) that is a currency type and the currency is coming from the Country Dimension (Organisation Dimension).
• Based on that measure, I have a calculated Measure ("Measure_EUR") with a fixed target currency EUR.
• In the Account Dimension I have "Revenue", which has no calculation and I dont have a hierarchy (Unit Type is set to currency)

Instead of having the possibility to change the conversion rate (eg EUR to CHF from 0,94 to 0,90) I can only enter a possible value in CHF and see the result in EUR (see screenshot). That is not what I am looking for (converting values is already possible in SAC without compass).

Is it possible to create the simulation that I have described? If yes, how?

Hi Eric,

Thanks for reaching out! I am not seeing your screenshot, hence it is hard to tell. If you can attach it, and also some screenshots on how you modelled the measures, it would help greatly. 

But generally, for conversion rate to be a driver for compass, it will need to be a leaf account member, or a base member which is part of the calculation for revenue.

Hi Eric, thanks for the screenshots! I see that you are using the currency conversion rate table - this is not supported as a driver. To enable your use case, you will need to remodel your currency conversion values as a leaf account member or a base measure, and also adjust your calculation for revenue accordingly to integrate this currency conversion rates into its calculation.
