COGM in Universal Parallel Accounting(UPA)

In the SAP NOTE 3191636- Universal Parallel Accounting: Scope Information, it is mentioned that UPA and COGM (FIN-CO-COGM) functions cannot be used simultaneously in UPA. I would like to know if COGM functions will be available in UPA in the future, and if SAP has any development plans for this?

Or is there a workaround in UPA that can achieve COGM functionality?

UPA is designed on the concept of using a ledger for a specific valuation principle. The below blog might be a good starting point:

In essence you have to look at using ledgers for different valuation to meet your requirements

I understand what you mean. So,   can it set up a dedicated ledger for COGM in UPA, which can be assigned to a specific CO version(version 5, but not 0 version , for example), and to create a separate COGM actual cost accounting run CKMLCPAVR based on that ledger during CKMLCP closing in period end?
