Dear all
What exactly is the "account type" that appears on the bank account information display?
And does setting it have any effect on subsequent processing?

Hi Sato,
Good Day!
This field is mostly used for reporting for classifying the account type.

Hello Sato,
When you open an account in bank, you select the account type. Similarly in SAP you get account types.
Scope item J77 gives you more details on Advanced Bank Account Management where account type is used in workflow process restrictions. For example, if you choose 01 workflow process can only be triggered for current account also situation types can be triggered based on account types. With 2208 release, you can also classify the account as in-house bank account so system knows to treat the account for in-house banking and the settings are made as per the account type. The new scope item for in-house banking is 6BP.
Hope this clarifies.

Hello Sato,
The account type indicates the type of business operation the bank account is associated with.
For further information on the types and uses you can check SAPs documentation on the bellow SAP Help portal:

I hope this helps.
