#COE EDI support on Cloud Platform Integration

Hi,

We are using Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) to develop EDI mapping for our cloud system. We need to map VDA documents to the SOAP messages in our cloud system, however, the EDI to XML converter in CPI only support EDI standard EDIFACT and ANSI X12. Will there be any updates for VDA support in the near future?

Hi Tracy,

To your point, Yes the CPI only supports EDI Standards for EDIFACT and ANSI X12 and does not support VDA. And I could not find any documentation for its supportability in CPI roadmap either, you may refer to this link:

(Although this is supported at the On Premise B2B add-on)

But in short, in order to cope with the different standards and to allow for an easy integration of these EDI standards in an SAP system, an EDI converter solution must be employed. The EDI converter solution may either run locally (in CPI its not available although its available in SAP PI) or may be outsourced to an external service provider.
