Classification Tab in Equipment Master

Hi,

In the equipment screen, we have one dedicated tab for "classification" i.e (095 Standard class (Full screen)) in the equipment cat profile. The equipment have two classes and characteristics are assigned to each of the classes. But in that tab / view for "classification", all the characteristics from both classes are displayed together. Is it possible to segregate characteristics class wise and show in two separate tabs eg: Class XYZ & Class ABC.

IE02

I know that , SAP have a standard solution to segregate characteristics and display it by the function "Characteristic Grouping" and it works fine. But customer should click "Class Overview" and go to another screen to see this information.

Customer requirement is to have a similar grouping in the initial Equipment display screen as separate tabs.

So my question is, is it possible to achieve this by standard or do we need enhancement to modify subscreen "095- Standard Class" to display characteristics of two classes separately in tabs?

regards

VV

VV,

I wouldn't think that its possible in the standard 095 or 097 screens without modifying your system.

You could create a customer-specific screen via user-exit ITOB0001 (PM: Customer include subscreen for techn. obj. master data).

Alternatively, you could add a button to the equipment that displays the class/characteristic data in a report format. This too would need development.

Hi Peter,

Yes, it seems we need some enhancement to add a new tab in IE02 for separate classes and do not suggest it. The reason is that, customer have the same requirement met in "Class overview" screen with "Characteristic Grouping" function. The characteristics are displayed separately on two tabs. I just grouped characteristics in two tabs and named those two tabs with the same name as Classes. I think, adding a new button will be a redundancy to already existing "class overview" button in IE02.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Kind regards,

VV

I havent used class grouping for a very long time, and I seem to remember that was a pain to set up..

Is it possible to make this setting once for all users, or do you still have to set it up for each individual user?

Hi Peter,

When I checked I see that the settings done once is available for all users and in all equipment.

Hi I think you can use screen sequence number 099 that will give you different tabs as per your class.
