CKMSTART when to run

Hi guys

I have created new plant and activated material ledger

When shall I run the CKMSTART Production run of material ledger

Before the extension of material to new plant or after the extension of material to new plant

Already material Ledger is activated in system because it is S4 Hana system

The ML should be active, before the material master can be created in a plant, so you need to set ML active first using CKMSTART.

Sir,

Do we need to lock all materials while doing CKMSTART for new plant

if our system is already activated with Material Ledger

because while doing production run of CKMSTART we got warning message as unlock materials in plant

All previous material ledger periods need to be closed in production before going live(What do we mean by closing previous period of material ledger before going live). {In number of cases chances are that material ledger gets productive in one month (say 04,2012) and then business tries to execute closing after the completion of the next month ( say 05, 2012)[Please even explain this point in detail] .}

I have not understood your new question. If there is a new plant, you will make it productive in a particular month. Once the transactions are booked in a period, you would perform month end close in ML. I have not quite understood your question on ML close for other plants, which are already productive and the closing of period for the new plant, which would become productive. It would help if you specify your query in a bit more simple terms so that I can help you.
