Hi,
After Production start up run, using tcode CKMM, I tried to change Price determination 2 to 3 and Price Control V to S in the specified plants of all materials.
It changed around 70% of Materials as required. Yet, around 30% of materials, there is still Price Control V and Price determination 2 exists. Those materials shown in error log stating the reason that 'cost component split exists'. I tried to change Price control first in MM02, then change Price determination from 2 to 3 as specified in sap documentation. No hope, same error message comes. I couldn't change. I analysed one material, which was 'Packaging Material'.
Unless there is a change into, price determination 3 and Price control S, I can not bring those materials under Material ledger.
Is there any solution for this?
Ashok

Hi Ashok
If i remember it correctly, this error message can be converted to warning in OBA5..
Can you plz check that... If error msg is AB123, enter AB as work area in OBA5 and for message 123 change it from error to warning
I think that possibility to change this msg from E to W is also mentioned the detailed analysis of the error message

Hi
In case this error msg is not allowed to be changed, then follow the steps below
1. Reverse the cost estimate from CKR1... This should not impact your inventory valuation because your price control for these materials is V
2. Change the price control from V to S.. If you are not on ECC version of SAP, then you will have to maintain Std Cost = MAP in MR21 and then only you change the price control
3. Once the price control is S, you can proceed ahead with further activities...

Hi Ajay,
I tried these two solutions. Yet, the error message turned into green, but process was not carried out. The same with ckr1. I was able to delete the cost estimate in the current period. Yet, I couldn't change the price control in Material Master. The same message comes.
Though the particular material is of FERT, yet there was no 'with quantity structure' indicator. Then I tried in 'without qty structure too. The message says, no cost estimation available. Then I tried to do ck11n. It says no cost estimation saved. Here if I want I can create a cost estimation now.
Really it is freak, how a FERT material shows V as Price Control with a message saying 'there is standard cost estimate exists' not allowing to change V into S

Hey Ashok
Once you have reversed the cost estimate, it cant give msg that cost comp split exists...
You can check in costing 2 view that CUrrent Price under "Current" tab will be zero, though std price under the same tab might be populated.....
May be it can give you an error that price in previous period exists or some thing of that sort... Try to do MR21 in previous period and make price zero in that period as well.... For that MMRV or MMPV, should allow posting in previous period, i guess

Dears, in general ,you need to change the price determination immediately after a material master is created.
Means, it has to be done before upload of actual cost component split ( ACCS) due to the reason that ACCS generates posting to PV accounts and once there is a PV posting with peice determination 2, Mat.Ledger would not allocate this PV.
Hence, you've got to change the price determination to 3 , for all the newly created materials before upload ACCS and before any MM transactions.
Although this is not an answer, I thought I would point out something you will notice after using Material Ledger. For any given part, the price control will be S for the current period. It will be V for the past periods only after Material Ledger has been run through the Post Closing Entries stage. Knowing when and how it flips from S to V is useful.
Hopefully the CKR1 cost estimate removal approach cured your other issue.

La única opción que existe es analizar el tipo de de material, si éste es de consumo, su precio no debe ser estándar (Materias primas). Los productos que tienen costo estándar son los de ensamble o transformación.
