CK13N different time values are displayed

Hello,

in transaction CK13N you can see at the foot of the screen (detail list on) different information about a calculation.

In this area you see for example some data from the working plan (CA03) e.g. the machine set-up time or personnel time.

In the working plan (CA03) the time values are displayed in minutes.

In transaction CK13N (calculation of materials) some time values are displayed in minutes and some time values are displayed in hours.

So some values seams to be converted from minutes to hours.

Why ?

How can we change this?

We need all time values displayed in minutes.

Thanks

Hi

Whats your UoM for activity type that is asigned in CA03?

You can maintain time in minutes in CA03, but in CK11N and CK13N, i guess it is displayed based on the UoM of the activity type assigned in the work center and routing..

Hello Ajay,

sorry for my request. But can you give me an detailed explanation of what do you mean.

Sorry I have a german SAP system and I am not so firm in some expressions like UoM.

SAP Note 724430 was already implemented.

Thanks

Hi

Sorry for using a short form.. UoM stands for Unit of Measure....

I asked what did you specify in your act type as UoM i.e. as Minutes or Hours?

If you specifed it in hrs, then in CK13N is likely to appear in hours

Some times, it also depends on lot size.... Based on smaller or larger costing lot size, i have seen the Power (KWH) getting converted into Joules...

Hello,

I have checked the routing and the work center. Both have as UoM minutes.

The activity unit of the activity type is hour. Maybe this ist the problem. But this is not allowed to change.

But the same activity type is used for two items in CK13N. In one item the input unit of measure is shown as hour and in the other item the unit is shown as minutes although the unit for routing and work center is minute.

Have you another idea?

Thanks

Hi

Whats the quantity for the item where it is showing in minutes?? Is the quantity too small? I am not sure if thats the reason, but that might be a probability..

One thing I can tell you for sure is that cost calculation wont be wrong because of this... Its just a display in another unit of measure...

You may also think of raising an OSS message if the issue is critical for you...

Hi,

I have found a note from SAP:

Note 72442 - Unit conversion in product costing

Thanks

Hi Arnfried Doetsch,

The display of "Minutes" or "Hours" in CK11N / CK13N depends on the following...

1. The Unit of Measure you mainain for the Acitivity (you maintained "Hour" in your case)

and

2. The lot size maintained in the Material Master.

For example :

The lot size maintained in the Material Master is 1000 and it takes 10 Hours as per Routing. If you execute the cost estimate for 1 unit in CK11N, then the Unit of Measurement will be calculated and displayed in Minutes instead of Hours.

I observed in my previous implementations that, even, some value differences also occur interms of the Stadard Cost per Unit when you executed the Cost Estimate (CK11N) using Costing Lot Size (maintained in Material Master) and for 1 Unit. I raised it to SAP as well, but, they couldn't arrive at any solution.

So, it is always advisable to execute the Cost Estimate for the Costing Lot Size maintained in the Material Master. Because, by and large, it impacts your inventory valuation.

Hope this clarifies...

we can see 72442 - Unit conversion in product costing The unit of measurement used is that of the activity type, for example, H. The system now attempts to convert all the units of measurement to H. However, there are two exceptions: 1. If the value exceeds the field size (field overflow), the next highest unit of measurement is used, for example, DAY. 2. If the conversion causes rounding errors higher than one thousandth, for example, 29 MIN = 0.483333...H, the next lowest unit of measurement (in this case, MIN) is used. See Note 62919 for more information.
