Hi all,
Can anyone please help me out with the scenario. I'm junior FICO consultant and I wanted to create a company with branches in other countries just for practice purposes. I've read answers to these kind of questions and most of the answers recommended to create a new company code for each branch because they are in different countries.
But here is the question what type of chart of accounts should I create for all 3 Cocodes considering that I want to use only 1 Controlling area.
Should I do this:
Company code A - operating COA 1000
Company B - operating COA 1000 / alternative COA 2000
Company C - Operating COA 1000 / alternative COA 3000
Help others by sharing your knowledge.

Hello ficoaz
You should create one operational COA for all the three company codes as you want the same controlling area. If however, you need different accounting principles and your system is a new gl system, than you can set up parallel ledgers. The below link should be useful
