Change stock with regards to UoM

Hi,

We have a material. Base Unit of measure is PC, Alternative UoM is KG. 1 PC = 1 KG

Current stock is 100 PC.

In fact the the weight of 1 PC is 2 KG. We want to change Alternative UoF saying that 1 PC = 2 KG. It means that our stock should be reduced to: 100 / 2 = 50 PC

How to do this? Any movement types?

Go to MM02 > Additional Data > UoM tab where update the conversion 1pc = 2kg. Save the changes. SAP allows changing the conversion factor only if no stock exists in the current or previous year. In your case, since there is a stock of 100 pc, you need to adjust the stock first

Post a Goods Issue for 50pc to reduce the stock with movement type 201, preferably to a dummy cost center. Post Goods Receipt back for 50pc with corrected UoM with movement type 202. This simulates a stock correction and allows you to re-enter the stock with the correct UoM relationship.

If you are using batch-managed or serialized materials, make sure to update the batch master data and classification to reflect the new weight per pc

Hi Lakshmipathi. Thanks for the comment. Sorry, did not get your suggestion. Anyway, we simply resolved this by adjusting the stock via Inventory count and then changing Alternative UoM..
