Change output when "delivery completed" indicator ( ELIKZ) is set in background

Dear Experts,

We have a requirement to trigger change output when delivery completed indicator is set/unchecked in background. Can you please suggest how it can be achieved?

We found one SAP NOTE 1987986 which helps in creating the change log but it is unclear if it will work when GR is posted via eWM or via BAPI or API.
