Hi,
İ have a material created in more than 20 plants two months ago. Since then, many material documents has been created and there is a considerable amount of stock both in the previous and current periods.
To change the UOM,
*i have to complete / mark as deleted all the documents related to the material.
there must be no stock in the last two periods.
As this is hard work considering the number of plants, is there an easier way of changing the UOM?
Request clarification before answering.
Hi,
One way is to get rid of this problem is:
Create new materials with new UoM.
Create some interim material with new UoM, maintaining in additional data that old UoM = new UoM.
Then transfer the stocks to the interim material then again transfer the stocks to new materials.
In this way you can solve the problem, without deleting ur old documents (open PR's, open PO's etc)
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Viswanath

Hi Lia,
You can use either transaction code: MB1B or MIGO (option: Transfer Posting).
You have to do Material to Material transfer.
System will prompt for plant, storage location, and from material and to material, quantity etc.
Then save the document.
Note: In order to carry out a transfer posting from material to material both materials must be managed in the same stockkeeping unit If you want to transfer materials with different UoM, then there should be a relationship between the UoM's.
Hope this clarifies.
Thanks

System will not allow Material to Material Transfer with 309 movement type between two different Base unit of measures.
You have to take out the stock with 562 movement using MB1C. After changing the Base unit of measure, post the stock with 561 movement using MB1C for equal quantity in new unit of measure.
