Hi,
Is it possible to change the production order after release ?
The scenario is as follows:
A production order (PO) has been release and it is utilizing "production line A" and time of completion id 5 days.
After release of PO, "production line B" becomes available due to any reason. And now we want to utilize the line with the same production order.
Can this be done. If Yes How?

Suhail
Hi Suhail,
I had the same situation at one of my client's place. We split the order into two orders, the second order had the quantity that was to be processed on the second line. I think this is the easiest solution.
Other solution: This is a raw process solution where in you can change the cycle time of operations to half their usual times. Now you can manually take a certain quantity onto second line (The system will not have any details). This only helps the planners as they see that line 1 will be available sooner than expected.
Please note that these two solutions were tested at the client site, but was a big effort to control the system. The client eventually decided to not split the order in this fashion, as it had a lot of planning problems. So, every time line 2 was free, they push an new order in and let the old older continue to be processed in line 1 as the finish date has been calculated and the customer has accepted the delivery date.
Its a business decision.

Hi,
If you split the order you cannot carry out the child order qty with a different
routing because a split order cannot be read for read pp master data.If read pp master data for the split order is possible you can select the desired routing for that order
You cannot read pp master data in a aplit hierarchy.

Hi,
It is very simple scenario to handle
You are having one production line A with lot size 1-20 pc
another production line B with lot size 1-9 pc
Initially you are having a production order for 20pcs.
order is in released state.Routing with lot size 1-20pc is selected
You want to include production line B for some reason so that
your production time has to decrease.
Now read pp master data for the production order. Now production
order will be in crtd state .change the required qty to 11 pcs.
Now run the mrp. Planned order will be created for 9 pcs.
Convert this planned order to production order .When you are doing so
system will ask you which routing to be selected. select the routing and save.
Now release both the production orders and check the start time and finish
time.
Initially for 20pcs production time will be 6.00 - 6.21 am (setup time 1
and process time 1)carry out forward scheduling.
For production order with 11 pcs 6.00-6.12 am
For production order with 9 pcs 6.00-6.10 am
I think your problem was solved.
Reward points if useful

Hi,
Follow these steps
In opl8 set the selection of routing to manual ( setting 4)
In opu3 tick the production dates indicator so that the dates and time can be
adjusted.
First create two routing with different lotsize
Routing 1 1 -10000pc
Routing 2 1- 5000 pc
Your PIR Requirement is for 10000pcs
Md02/Md04
Planned order will be created.convert to production order. The system will say routing to be selected manually.System will propose routing 1 .Select and convert into production order.
Now system will create production order for 10000pcs.
Release / Production started.
After that you found that one more production line is free and you want to
utilise that.
Now change your production order qty to 6000 pc from 10000pcs and save it.
Now run MRP.
Plannned order will be created for 4000pcs.
convert this into production order .Now the system will propose two routings
and select the desired one .If necessary change the scheduled start dat/time
for the new production orders.
Now your requirement qty is met by two production orders and your time /dates
is also reduced for your entire qty.
I think you will get the solution to your problem if you follow the steps as explained.
If found useful reward points.

Hi
U can create different production versions for the different routings. when u go to functions - read PP master data, it will revert the production order from release state to created status. this will help in selecting the routing again which can be done by selecting the production versions.

If you have the other recipe or other routing with Production Line B, Reread the master data, or manually change the Production line in the Production order.
This can be done only if the order is in released status and none of the operations should be confirmed or partially confirmed.
After rereading the master data the released order will be reverted to Created.
Hope this helps you.

Hi
I think from your question you have created the order and released.
The production not yet started in the production line.
please go thro the solutions below.. some of them already suggested by our friens..
1.Manually change the line whcih you do not want
2.Have another prodn version and Re read master data and select the new version
3. Change the current routing and save.In the order re read master data and select the prodn version again--please check this
4. Close this order and create a new order after changing the routing with new line or after creating a new routing and prodn version.
