CCode XYZX: Fiscal year change 2025 has failed for some fixed assets (Message number AU271) SAP S/4

Dear SAP Community,

The balance carryforward or fiscal year change in SAP S/4HANA (Release 2021 SP 05, 11/2023) for Asset Accounting could not be executed for two company codes. The assets in these two company codes include investment support. For the remaining company codes, whose assets do not contain investment support, the balance carryforward or fiscal year change was successfully completed.

The error message “CCode XYZX: Fiscal year change 2025 has failed for some fixed assets” (Message no: AU271) does not provide any helpful information to identify the root cause.

I have reviewed several SAP Notes (3518095, 2347861, 2484838, 2617420, 2679765) but could not find any relevant guidance or solutions for this issue.

After further investigation, I discovered that during the test run of transaction AR11N (Investment Grant), the following error messages were displayed:

  • The remaining support amount on asset 000012000261-0000 will be negative (Message no. AA676)
  • There is a system inconsistency. Contact your system administrator. (Message no. AA558) Diagnosis:The current fiscal year maintained in company code 0101 does not match the fiscal year assigned to asset 0101 12000409-0.

For message AA558, I found a discussion in the SAP Community Portal (refer to the link https://community.sap.com/t5/enterprise-resource-planning-q-a/t-code-abumn-asset-values-should-come-...). The suggested solution was to carry out a fiscal year change using transaction AJRW. However, in SAP S/4HANA, the fiscal year change is executed as part of the balance carryforward process. Additionally, I noticed that the Last Fiscal Yr. date (ANLB-LGJAN) of the affected assets is greater than the highest fiscal year for the associated company code (T093C-LGJAHR). To resolve the issue, the Last Fiscal Yr. date for the affected assets would need to be adjusted by rolling it back one year.

Hello, You are on the right track,

Please check asset number holding the the same table for the year 2023 and check the posting for the assets and you can correct it and clear the same.
