Catalog Profile - Equipment and Notification- Can we use it together

Hi

Currently in the business scenario the PM catalog profiles are assigned to Notification Types and coding, task, activities, causes are defined in different catalog profiles for each Notification Type separately.

But now customer want a list of "tasks" for certain equipment and need this assigned whenever a notification is created. I know this requirement may solved by creating a catalog profile at equipment level.

But the problem now is that if we assign Catalog Profile at Equipment level, the whole concept built on Catalog Profile assignment at Notification level will be gone and inputs for coding, activity, causes etc. get affected when we create a new Notification. Equipment catalog profile take precedence over Notification catalog profile.

Is there any way to maintain tasks for equipment and call them in Notification without changing Catalog Profile assignment at Notification level.

I see few options:

  • Link an ABC indicator to Priority in Order and then get the task by "Automatic Task Determination" functionality in Notification. As we can assign tasks to Priority in Response monitoring setup and can be called in Automatic Task Determination in Notification. But as ABC indicator has no connection to Priority, this will be enhancement.
  • Use classification and assign a catalog profile to class which containing the desired tasks and then do some enhancement to populate those tasks into Notification.

Do you see any better option?
