Cash discount in debit memo accounting document

Hello Experts,

I have a debit memo created with reference to an invoice (f2). The product is eligible for a cash discount and hence in the debit memo condition type DCD2 is triggered (we use S/4HANA Public cloud and hence DCD2 instead of SKTO).

I noticed that in the accounting document generated for the debit memo, the line item details doesn't show the calculated cash discount amount. I can see cash discount base amount, payment terms, baseline date etc. But the discount amount itself is missing.

If I check the accounting document of a debit memo without reference, the discount amount is available at line level along with all other details

Is this standard behavior? Or am I missing anything here?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello,

In SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, when a debit memo is created with reference to an invoice, the behavior you're observing may occur due to how the system handles cash discount calculations in such scenarios. With the debit memo condition type DCD2 triggered, it typically should include all the necessary details for cash discount calculations, similar to the non-referenced debit memos.

However, it's possible that for debit memos created with reference to an invoice, the calculated cash discount amount may not display explicitly in the line item details of the accounting document due to system logic prioritizing the original invoice details for consolidation purposes. The cash discount information like base amount, payment terms, and baseline date is included to ensure the conditions for cash discounts are met without explicitly populating the calculated discount in the accounting document.

This can be considered a standard behavior in these scenarios, especially when the primary objective is ensuring consistency and maintaining references to the original invoice's financial conditions rather than calculating a new discount separately.

Warm regards,
