  • Hi Salma, I ran this through our SAP AI Consultant and got the following response, let me know if this is helpful

In SAP Group Reporting on S/4HANA (often referred to as QS4), the "Run Data Mapping" step is crucial for loading data into Group Reporting. If the "Run Data Mapping" does not create a job and as a result, no data can be loaded, it can be a significant issue. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially fix this issue:

Steps to Fix "Run Data Mapping" Issue in SAP Group Reporting

    1. Check Authorization:

      • Ensure that the user running the "Run Data Mapping" has the necessary authorizations. Missing authorizations can prevent the job from being created or executed.
      • Verify roles and authorizations in transaction SU01 or PFCG.
    2. Review Configuration:

      • Double-check the configuration settings in the Data Mapping section. Ensure that all mappings are correctly defined and there are no missing mandatory fields.
      • Go to the configuration app for Data Mapping and review the settings.
    3. Check Job Logs:

      • If a job is not being created, there might be logs indicating why. Check the job logs in transaction SM37 or the Fiori app for job monitoring.
      • Look for any error messages or warnings that might give a clue about what is going wrong.
    4. System Logs and Traces:

      • Check the system logs using transaction SM21 for any system-related issues that might be preventing the job from being created.
      • Review application logs in transaction SLG1 for any specific errors related to Group Reporting.
    5. Verify Data Source:

      • Ensure that the data source being used for the Data Mapping is correctly configured and accessible.
      • Test the connection to the data source to ensure there are no connectivity issues.
    6. Update and Patches:

      • Ensure that your SAP system is up to date with the latest support packages and patches. Sometimes, issues are resolved in newer updates.
      • Check SAP Notes for any known issues and apply relevant notes if necessary.
    7. Consult SAP Support:

      • If the issue persists, it might be necessary to consult SAP Support. Open a support ticket with SAP and provide detailed information about the issue, including any error messages and logs.

    Who Can Fix This?

    • SAP Basis Team:

      • They can check system logs, job logs, and ensure that the system is up to date with the latest patches.
      • They can also verify and adjust authorizations if required.
    • SAP Functional Consultant:

      • They can review the configuration settings in Group Reporting and Data Mapping.
      • They can ensure that all mappings are correctly defined and troubleshoot any configuration issues.
    • SAP Support:

      • If internal resources are unable to resolve the issue, SAP Support can provide assistance. They have access to a broader range of tools and knowledge to diagnose and fix the problem.

By following these steps and involving the appropriate personnel, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with the "Run Data Mapping" in SAP Group Reporting.
