Dear SAP,
I understand that in SAP Public Cloud, it is not possible to go back to a previous period in the Close Period app. Could you please confirm if this is correct?
If I still need to reopen the previous period, what steps should I take? Are there any workarounds or alternative solutions available?

Yes , that is correct.
Please check the KBA https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2748224 .
In OnPrem system there is a report RMMMINIT customers can run at there no risk but this isnt available in the Cloud .
Unfortunately a workaround is not currently available
