Cannot add Search Help to Custom Field - "No suitable value help key field exists" error

Hello SAP Community,

I made a Custom Field in the customizing client of our dev system (S/4HANA Public Cloud - 3 system landscape) through the Custom Fields app. I have a requirement to add search help to this custom field. For this purpose, I made a custom CDS view through the Custom CDS Views app. However, when I try to bind this CDS through the "Value Help View" field, the error message "No suitable value help key field exists" appears:

Hello

Did you check the length of your custom field? It happened to me the same and it was because of that. Check the length and type of your custom field is the same than the key of the CDS Value Help.
