Canadian Payroll Year-End 2019 - Are you ready?

The HR Schedules for Maintenance Deliveries is still at the same place as last year. Look at either the “Schedules for Support Package Stacks” or the “SAP ERP Human Capital Management” hyperlinks at:

https://support.sap.com/en/release-upgrade-maintenance/maintenance-information/schedules-for-mainten...

SAP will probably talk about the YE-2019 in Toronto during the "ASUG Experience for Human Resources & Payroll 2019" event, and there usually is an ASUG Webcast on the subject after that (but I couldn't see it on the ASUG Events Calendar).

Hello Mihkel,

Rémi is now retired, but somebody else created a forum for Canadian Payroll Year-End 2020, please see

https://answers.sap.com/questions/13198963/canadian-payroll-year-end-2020.html

Note 2873786_ TAX Enhanced Basic Personal Amount for Federal taxation for 2020 was issued for the increase of the Basic Personal Amont.

In the Manual instruction the constant IFFD0 - Federal indexing factor for the new amount is missing.

It should be 1,096.10

  • SAP Note 2867510 https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2867510 has been released with all the rate changes for 2020 for all provinces.
  • Simplified Canada Employment Amount Credit (K4 & K4P) Computation as published in T4127 Guide is pending clarification from the CRA . We plan to deliver this in a separate Note once we receive the clarification.
  • Maximum Assessable Earnings for Yukon is pending as the workers compensation board expects to publish it next week. This too will be delivered in a subsequent Note.
  • Changes to the XML specification and schema for T4 & T4A also coming next week. Though this should not affect reporting for 2019. There are new tags added to the XML.

I expect the Canada Year-End Note to be available on the same day.

Remi - good point, perhaps ask ASUG to host the webcast for Canada since they are already hosting one for the US https://www.asug.com/events/hcm-u-s-payroll-and-tax-reporting-year-end-update-2019? - you can ask for it by emailing speakers at asug dot com.

Hello Tammy,

ASUG has been hosting the Canada Year-End Webcast for many years now, and it has always been in collaboration with SAP (through someone who knows Payroll for Canada).

Last year (https://www.asug.com/events/hr-hcm-canada-payroll-and-tax-reporting-year-end-update-2018), the speakers were Viswanath Ramamurthy, Felipe Costa and Licaro Dorneles, all from SAP. I sent an eMail to speakers@asug.com, and perhaps you could try to help on your side.

Remi - the speakers email address is now handling all ASUG webcasts. I'll see the team in person next week, let me know if you haven't heard anything by end of week and I can ask in person.
