can you use a CAL S4HANA with SAP BTC?

Has someone come across this scenario. 

We want to try out the SAP BTC(Business transformation center) on cloud alm 

for this as source system , we need to use the on prem ECC EHP8 

as target system , if we use an CAL apppliance e.g. hosted on MS-Azure, will this setup work?

Hello, SAP BTC is not integrated with SAP CAL. They both have conversion functionality, but you cannot use SAP BTC to make the transformation and SAP CAL to create the target infrastructure and shell system installation. Moreover I do not recommend using SAP CAL conversion scenario as it is going to be deprecated with the next SAP CAL release. You should use SAP BTC only. Regards, Nikola
