Hi Support,
Our operation is still working on the current fiscal year for daily transactions, and not finish the Dec closing and carry forward, but some of new transactions (such as SO, PO, production orders need to start for next year),
We'd like to know if system is able to open a new fiscal year without closing the current year??
What's the system impact for new year opening if we don't finish the Dec closing and carry forward?
Thanks!

Dear Customer,
You can have up to three open fiscal years at the same time.
For example: 2023, 2024 and 2025.
In case you already have three open fiscal years and try to open the fourth one, system will thrown the following error message:
"More than 3 years open: creation of future fiscal year is not permitted (KBA: 2497093)"
The execution of balance carryforward (steps 1 and 2) is a prerequisite to close a fiscal year, not to open the subsequent fiscal year.
For further information, please check the below help documents:
Configuration: Open Fiscal Year and Accounting Periods
I hope the above explanation answer your queries.
Best regards,
Albert
