Can we have EPPM (Project System) and Professional Services solution implemented in same system?

Hello All,

Can we implement both (EPPM (Project System) and Professional Services solution) in same system?

in case any customer want to implement both then how should we go ahead as both solutions are very different in workings.

and by chance we implement then how to differentiate the projects whether its from PS or Professional Services?

Hi SYADAV,

Yes it is possible to implement both solutions in the same system.

The project types (C or I for profl. services) and project profile (investment, captial etc.) can be used to further distinguish between the projects. Nonetheless, you use different apps to manage each solution.

Hi Feras Al-Basha ,

thats true we can use both at same time but few apps are able to access each others project which might create issues like Mass change which can access Work Package, project actuals etc

this should be well defined identification and separate to be able to distinguish between both solutions. in fact EPPM is more on Project System and supports manufacturing etc and Professional Services is more specific to Service Industry like IT services etc.

even Authorization should also be differentiated else sometimes when we give authorization for catalog which contain other apps specific to EPPM then some users will definitely try and ask questions regarding this.

Authorization needs to be more granular so that we can give access by Apps or solution wise as and when required.
