can we block users from using different spareparts than the ones in the BOM in PM Order ?

Hello,

To make it simple, my client is working in the pharmaceutical industry and they have some strict policies when the process touches the quality of their products, it is forbbiden for maintenance workers to use spareparts that are not listed in the BOM even if it is the same reference just different constructor, in order to do this they need to make a change control which is a quality procedure.

the change control procedure is not maintened on SAP, my client's need is to just block the users on SAP from assigning different components than the ones affected to the BOM, is it possible to do it without doing any ABAP codding ? just by customizing ?

Just to clarify when you say you want to stop users form assigning different components to an order. Do you want to stop the goods issue process if the material is not reserved? or are you talking specifically about preventive maintenance and you do not want anyone to modify the list of materials which were reserved through a Bill of Materials?

Hello, what i am talking about is the phase where users open the component tab in IW32 and they fill it with the spareparts that they need, i want to prevent them from adding any sparepart that is not in the equipment BOM, i will give you an example to clarify what i am saying :

let's suppose i have the equipment 10000

it has a BOM like this :

- SP001 1 Pce

- SP002 1 Pce

when the user is making the order he notices that the sparepart SP001 is out of stock and that he could use another one from another constructor, let's say it's called SP003.

when he does this in the component tab SAP blocks him.

i know that we can do this using some ABAP code that checks the BOM and if the spare part is not in it then it will block the user. but i was wondering if we there was any way to do this without doing any ABAP Codding ?

Hi,

This is purely an enhancement, you can enhance the F4 search help of the component field to list the materials based on the BOM Materials based on the Equipment.

Hello Maria, i do know that it is possible to do this, what i was hoping is to find some solution that would not require any enhancement, thanks for your answer anyways.
