Hello Team
We are in process of implementing Successfactors Employee Central for few divisions within our organization.
However, there would be some divisions whose employees wont be onboarded into SF EC.
But, we do require the basic data of these employees and their Supplier Fin Accounting BPs to exist in the system as we would be using the Finance module in S4HC for making the re-imbursements / payments.
We plan to use the file import process to create the employee records and the Fin BPs for these employees.
Can any one of you confirm if employee data from SF EC and import file co-exist in S4HC? (We are OK to not maintain Reporting manager data for the employees loaded through file import)

Nitin
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Nitin,
you can check SAP KBA https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/0002555311 for known limitations and best practices.
It is not recommended to use a mixed approach (replicate one part of employee base, import the other) due to possible dependencies between both sets of data e.g. for manager relationships (now, in the past or in future) or when an employee transfers from one division to the other.
Thanks
Andreas

Many thanks andreas.hackl.
I have gone through the suggested KBA and understood the recommendations.
However, we would still try to implement the mixed usage in our Q system and test it well.
We will maintain the import file employees without any Manager.
We need not maintain the employee master data in SF EC for the employees of these certain divisions as the sole purpose of having them in S4HC is to be able to make payments / reimbursements. (also given that these are quite a few in number and having their records on SF EC might also cause a larger SF license impact to us)
I will update you on the outcome.

Nitin
Hi Nitin,
Let me also add a couple of comments for your consideration:
The replication of employee data from SF EC to S/4HANA Cloud is able to "reuse" or we could say "overwrite" existing employee data in S/4HANA Cloud which was previously loaded via Import Employee app. This can be done as long as these employees have the exact same identifiers like Person External ID, etc. (respecting lower/upper case too)
If the data received from SF corresponds to a different company code to the one imported to the employee in S/4HANA Cloud, you would get a new employment entry (and therefore a new PERNR) generated for the employee which will be visible from Employee Fact Sheet in S/4. For such scenarios you may want to consider some review or adjustments over the data. So in general if you plan to replicate data from Successfactors in the future it will not be suitable to initially import the employees via CSV in a "dummy" company code, and instead it would be best if the employees you initially load through Import Employee app are loaded in same company codes as the real source information you have in Successfactors.
Best regards,
Guillermo
