Dear Experts,
We are working on S/4 HANA conversion project from ECC to S/4.Customer/Vendor account group number ranges are different from BP Grouping number ranges. While doing configuration related to BP-CVI on ECC, during assigning Customer/vendor account group to BP grouping we are facing error as “The number ranges for account group & grouping are different”. Kindly help how to resolve this issue? Is it OK to keep grouping number ranges as internal on ECC CVI?
Thank you

Hello Rahul,
While doing the configuration of BP, in Master Data Synchronization you must have selected the check box - Same Number Range, that is why you are getting this error, you need to remove that check box if you are having different number ranges configured in BP grouping and Account Group of Customer/Vendor.
Thanks,

Hello Ankur,
Thanks for your reply.
When we removed that option we are getting new error "You are only permitted to use grouping with identical numbers". What we think this is coming because our BP grouping number range is " External". Is it Ok if we mark it as "Internal"? Does it will cause any issue during synchronization? Note - Customer & vendor number ranges are different from BP number ranges.
Thank you
Hi dear all,
Please, check whether the destination NR hasn't been marked as external. The idea is that you should use the option "Same Number Range" in case you have an external target NR. Othervise, you have to use only internal target NRs with the option "Same Number Range" unchecked.
Best regards,
Pavel
