BOM recursive (message no. 29110)

Adding a component to a material BOM results in the error message no. 29110
(BOM is recursive)

--> CS02
--> Enter the required BOM data (Material number / Plant / BOM Usage / Change number etc.)
--> Add a component and required quantity to the BOM
--> Enter

==> "BOM is recursive" error (message no. 29110)

To discover the recursivity you can use a recursivity trace (note 839879). Then reproducing the error will indicate the source of the recursivity

You can create the recursivity trace as follows:

--> Add the User ID that you are using to reproduce the behaviour with to customizing transaction OS29
--> Activate the trace for this User ID with transaction CSRC_TRACE

Reproduce the behaviour again:

--> CS02
--> Enter the required BOM data (Material number / Plant / BOM Usage / Change number etc.)
--> Add a component and required quantity to the BOM
--> Enter

==> "BOM is recursive" error (message no. 29110). This time the source of the recursivity is indicated.

The Recursive allowed flag could be set for the component to allow it to be added to the BOM.
