Can anyone suggest a suitable on-premise CMIS compliant backend server for S4HC?
We tested the on-premise MS Sharepoint, but we were not able to connect the two systems.
Our management requirement is that it should be on-premise at leas the document storage backend.
Thank you in advanced!

Hi,
I think the idea of using SharePoint on premise is a very good idea.
We have solution that can "bridge the gap" between S4HC and SharePoint, in practice it does not work as CMIS storage because that has many limitations regarding folders generation and attributes in SharePoint.
Our solution can connect to S4HC for getting attachments and data, and is then creating folder structures in SharePoint, storing files and adding attributes. In S4HC it replaces the real attachments with URL to the SharePoint folders.
A "flavour" of it is used today in production by a customer, connecting C4C (the principle is the same as for S4HC, using existing APIs) to SharePoint on-prem.
So we would work in a collaborative way if you want to proceed further with this. Let me know in private message if you're interested
