Batch Update with Date of Manufacture

Hi All,

I have a requirement. Batch Management is active and all materials which are produced in-house are batch managed. Batches are created upon release of Process order. Process Order for HALB is created. The Date of Manufactured which is updated for HALB material when i do GR for process order. This is updated in HALB's Batch Master. Then I create process order for FERT, and batch is created upon release of process order.

Now the requirement is that the Date of Manufacture of HALB material which is updated in Batch Master should be updated as Date of Manufacture for FERT and captured in its Batch Master.

We have already used enhancement spot WORKORDER_UPDATE for other development. Can someone tell how can i hook enhancement spots on the BATCH_MASTER where I can hook in the WORKORDER_UPDATE spot.

Hi Dominik,

Thanks for your reply. I thought of going for batch derivation, but the data maintenance will be cumbersome. Hence I thought of going for development. I now got the change request approved and now I have to create functional design document for the same.

You don't really need to implement custom enhancements here. Batch derivation should do the trick - see SAP Help on Batch Derivation and specifically on Deriving the Production Date in Orders
