Batch classification values during goods receipt

Hi Experts,

At the time of goods receipt, MIGO screen does not show 'classification' button and there is no way to enter characteristics values while doing GR. However, once GR is done, I can enter characteristics value in MSC2N and also classification button appears on MIGO screen after GR posting.

I checked IMG path below as per my search on the forum:

Logistics-general>batch management>Batch valuation>Valuation for Goods Movement in Inventory Management>Activate Batch Classification for Goods Movements in IM

It does not allow to change 'classify batches' field. It seems that there are multiple options in this field but I see only 'No branching to batch classification selected'.

Can you please assist in this regard? If I am checking correct config, then what could be the issue OR if I am checking incorrect config then what should I do to allow entering of characteristics value during GR itself.

Note: There are also 2 'copy Chars' fields in this config, kindly let me know what is the use of these 2 fields and how do they differ from each other.

You are at the correct configuration entry, however I've scrolled to far right.

Just to the right of movement type field, there is a one-character field "CB":

You need to set this field to either 2, 3 or 4 depending on your needs.

"Ext. class." fields activates user-exit MBCFC004 to perform classification in background. One of the common uses is to implement a pop up here to enter values of characteristics and transfer them in background to a batch classification. Often, customers find this way more convenient that standard classification screen and you can implement additional valuations there.

I have more or less similar behavior.

The batch classification, I want to do it at the last operation confirmation with an automatic GR. Inside the confirmation screem at the Goods movement tab, i want to be able to generate a new batch and also as you mentioned to have a pop up to select the right characteristic value.

Could you please guide me what its to be done in the configuration?

Go to T-code OMJJ

Select Movement type - 101

Under class.batches, select option 2.
