BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA and Material Ledger [ML]

Dear Sirs,

The functionality of the above BAPI as per Help is "You use this method to create new material master data or to change existing material master data."

In Structure 'ValuationData" we have a variable for Future Price [FUTURE_PR].

In our implementation, Material Ledger [ML] is active. Therefore it is necessary to update Price in Two Currencies in our case, viz., Company Code Currency and Group Currency.

Will it be possible for the members to share their experience in using the BAPI within ML.

I want to know, if possible, method to be adopted to update future price in two currencies using the above BAPI.

I have exactly the same problem right now. Could you please share your experience? I've tried to use PRICES_CHANGE but with no success..

Hi,

I think PRICES_CHANGE relates to changing the prices;

This will revaluate the material and post an accounting document;

I am using BAPI_MATVAL_PRICE_CHANGE for this purpose;

In my requirement, we are not changing the prices;

just updating the Future Price Field in the material master with price and date; this will not create any revaluation; and later as per the valuation variant if no other prices are found, this data will be read as standard cost;

I could not find an alternative;

Hence after creation of material I am updating the prices thru BDC in to this field;

Please let me know in case you find any standard alternative to this issue;
