balance carryforward on tax account

Hi All,

I am looking for an explanation on the following scenario:

FBL3N shows a line item balance however the FS10N and F.01 shows balance including carryforward's.

I would like to understand that why is my balance sheet showing a balance including carry forward when it's not really a line item. carry forward does not generate any posting, then why does it get reflected in the balance sheet.. how would that be explained to the auditors?

thanks

Hi Kashif,

It is totally depends upon selection of dates, which you have selected. If you selected open items in FBL3N ,balance tally with FS10N and F.01. Carry forward is function where all balance sheet balances carry forward to next fiscal year & it would be update in either in GLT0 or FAGLFLEXT table in SAP ( Actual).

yes but why does something without a journal posting show up in Balance Sheet? Is that an accounting behavior ? to have carry forward show up on Balance Sheet account in new year without any journal posting?

is there any example that could be used to help me understand?

thanks

Also carry forward gets put into period "0" which is not an official period for posting documents.

As mentioned if you select "open items" then it will balance.  Show a document to the auditors showing this information and the log results for the GL carry forward.

Hi Kashif,

You have to transfer either net profit / net loss to Balance sheet account every end under reserve and surpluses. It is accounting principle.

To carry forward any balance no journal voucher required.
