Authorization in Material Master on tab level

Hi

We require only users with SUPPORT roles to be able to change all fields in Tx /scwm/mat1. The rest of the users should only be able to Display the information.

How do we use authorizations in the Material Master on tab level if I want certain users to only be able to make changes under Whse Data, Slotting and St. Type Data?

so you are talking about the warehouse product.

While you can work with authorizations, you should actually never be able to do ANY changes on any of the other tabs. Because all this information comes from the material master in ERP. Now while this does not really matter in an S/4HANA with embedded EWM - it is still not a good practice.

Using authorizations is one way. But in an S/4HANA systems all other tabs except the ones you described should anyway not be changeable in the TA /SCWM/MAT1. What system do you have? Still and SCM based system? Then you can activate a transaction variant, which is delivered in the standard, but not activated. In an S/4HANA based EWM this transaction variant is active by default.

Please use Authorization object M_MATE_STA to restrict access Views of Material Master. Please connect with your Basis/ Security Consultant to implement it in respective roles.
