ATP check in Service Order (S4 HANA Public Cloud 2308)

Dear Expert,

This question is for S4 HANA Public Cloud 2308.

Is there a way to show error or warning message when saving service order in case there is not enough available stock (ATP)?

Currently, we found that we can change item view to 'Service Part Item' view in order to check availability. However, the default view is 'All item' and it doesn't have any information about availability.

We concern that user will not change item view and user can create SVO without knowing that there is enough spare part or not because there is no information or warning/error message show.

Hi pete.lantharntong,

from a process perspective, there is no simple way to show a warning in the case that there is not enough available stock. A possibility that could be worth examining would be to develop custom ABAP code using developer extensibility (Embedded Steampunk) to implement such a warning message.

The simpler recommendation however to address the issue at hand would be the following. First of all, I would suggest to avoid the use of the ATP simulation shown in the screenshot above, as this uses the Check Rule 'S1', which always only checks for stock at plant level (a check at storage location level is not supported yet for the check rule S1).

Having said that, the easiest way to go about this situation is for the service end user who is creating and releasing the service orders to use the "Monitor Product Availability (CO09)" app, to check the stock availability situation, before releasing the service order. With this app, you can get an insight into the total cumulative ATP quantity at plant level, as well as on storage location level, and can use this as a basis for evaluating the product on stock before releasing the service order. Use the checking group 'SP' and Check rule 'S2' to mimic the ATP check that would take place during the creation of the service order reservation.

Best regards
