Assigning Sales area - Plant S/4HANA Cloud

We are trying to assig Sales area to plant but getting the error - 'Cannot create assignment. All Plants are already assigned to other Sales Areas'

For sales area to plant assignment it is not possible to assign multiple sales areas to the same plant.

Dear All,

In SAP S4 HANA cloud,

There are two assignment

• Assignment of plant to Sales area
• Assignment of plant to Sales organization and Distribution(Distribution Chain)

The Plant to sales Area assignment is for Intercompany scenario.

The Plant to sales area assignment is not a mandatory configuration for a normal sell from stock and other scenarios.

The plant to sales organization and Distribution is only required for the Sell from stock Scenario.(This assignment is required when products are sold through different distribution channels sells and from same plant)

Hi Suryaprakash,

I run into an error when I try to assign multiple distribution chains (sales org./Distr.Chl.)
My customer has 4 plants, 1 sales org. and 4 distribution channel.
The customer wants to be able to sell from all 4 plants through all 4 distribution chains (sales org./distr.chl.).

When I try to assign the plants to the Distribution Chain and "confirm" the change I get the following error message:

"Relational entity is not present for ID [Plant|Sales Org.|Distr.Chl.]"

Am I missing something or is this a bug?

Hi,

When processing a sales order item, the system automatically attempts to determine the associated delivering plant from the master data. The entry can later be changed manually.

Thus, based on your business request, there is no need to assign one plant to multiple sales areas.
