Hello,
I want to use different valuation methods for various balance sheet items, identified by different Sem. Tags, within the same valuation run.
Specifically, I want to value all items with the SemTag "FX" using the "always valuate" method, and items with the SemTag "FX2" using the lower of cost or market principle.
SAP is giving me an error that you can't assign multiple valuation methods to one valuation rule. However, I can only link one valuation rule to my accounting principle.
How can I value different items differently in SAP?
Business Background:
Current assets should always be valued.
Loans, however, should be valued according to the lower of cost or market principle.
Alternative Solution:
Do you know a workaround?
I'm thinking of something like mirroring the foreign currency g/l job and running the loan valuations as a separate job. Is this possible?
Let me know if you need further assistance or clarification.

Hello Felix,
Within a rule it is possible to define more than one valuation rule step.
Example:
You have a rule called ABCD.
Within the rule you define a valuation rule step 10 and a valuation rule step 20.
To the step 10 you can assign the FX semantic tag and the method always valuate.
To the rule step 20, you can assign the FX2 semantic tag and the method lower cost or market principle, as reuquired.
I hope this answers you question.
Best regards,
