Assign class/characteristics to equipment using migration cockpit

Hello Experts,

Do we have a standard migration object available to assign class/characteristics to equipment using migration cockpit.

We check the PM - Equipment object but it does not cater for assigning the class/characteristics to the equipment.

Please assist. Thanks in advance!

Are you working in S4? We're not in S4 yet - but I've done this plenty of times using LSMW in my environment. Using the standard batch/ direct input method.

Thanks for the reply. Yes we are using S/4 and user wanted to use migration cockpit to assign class and characteristics to the equipment as it is earie to use than LSMW.

Sorry - I'm not of much help - I don't have S4 yet ! Good luck though ! I'm very curious as to which EAM issues folks are facing when migrating to S4 and how much time the migrations are actually taking!

If LSMW is available in S4 and you have questions about how to make this work, just let me know.

If the equipment has no class assigned to the equipment then you need to use these structures :

IBIPEQUI

IBIPCLAS

IBIPFEAT

You can use migration object "Object classification - General template" to update equipment / functional location class / characteristics.

You will use the equipment / functional location number in the object key s below:

I can add a new classification with this, but not update an existing one. What i have to do in this case?
