Hi, Support SAP

We are trying to change the cost center and the standard shows “Profit center is not unique (01ADMIN/06PRODUT)” – Error AIST009.

I see the note 3399016 and change the company status, but don´t works.

In the attached document has the steps to simulate the problem.

Can I help us, please.

Best regards.

Rose Chaves.

Error AIST009 is raised because, at the point you change the cost center, SAP’s Asset Accounting sees two different profit centers coming from two “account assignment objects” (e.g. Cost Center vs. Investment/Internal Order) and cannot decide which one to use. You attempted SAP Note 3399016 (which deals with company‐status checks), but this message is not controlled by company‐status logic—it’s driven by the Additional Account Assignment Objects customizing in Asset Accounting.

The root cause of conflicting Profit‐Center derivation is because, when you maintain both

  • a cost center (in the time‐dependent tab), and
  • an investment/internal order (in the origin tab),

SAP derives a profit center from each. If those two profit centers differ—for example 01ADMIN vs. 06PRODUT—the system throws AIST009 because the profit‐center field must be unique.

In two ways, this can be resolved

You must guarantee that only one profit center source supplies the field (or that both sources derive the same profit center).

In SPRO navigate to Financial Accounting (New) → Asset Accounting → Integration with the New General Ledger Accounting → Additional Account Assignment Objects.

Under Activate Account Assignment Objects, either

  • Deactivate the object you don’t want to derive profit center from (for example the Investment/Internal Order),
  • Or change its priority so the cost‐center object is read first (and if it supplies a PC, the other object is ignored).

Under Specify Account Assignment Types for Account Assignment Objects, set the object you suppress to Not Used (so it never feeds into profit‐center derivation).
Save and transport your changes. Now only the cost center’s profit center is picked, eliminating the conflict.

If both account‐assignment objects must remain active for your business:

Ensure the Internal/Investment Order carries the same profit center as your cost centers.
Update each order (transaction KO02/CJ20N or via mass‐change) so its header profit center matches the cost‐center’s PC.

When both sources agree, AIST009 will no longer trigger.

In this case, I´have tried to change the cost center by AS02, that belong another profit center. For exemple, the cost center is TB0340110 and profit center is PRODUT and I tried update to TB0110000 and profit is ADM. When modify, shows the error because the profit center is different (PRODUT ≠ ADM).
