Asset Balances not visible for new year

Hi All

We have run the balance carry forward program for FY 2020 , and however even after running , we are not able to see the balances on the Assets in the new year

Can you please advise what is causing the issue

Hi,

There is no separate balance carry forward needed in asset accounting, the general balance carry forward transaction of FI (FAGLGVTR) transfers asset accounting balances by default. The program Fixed Assets-Fiscal Year Change (program RAJAWE00 / transaction AJRW) is obsolete in SAP S/4HANA.

This seems like a bug for which OSS should be consulted. I found some knowledge base articles from SAP to analyse further:

• 2598200 - Asset Balance Carryforward issue in SFIN or S4HANA system
• 2679765 - Balance Carried Forward successful but fiscal year didn't change in AA Table

Hi,

In FI balances are carried forward via balance carry forward transaction.
In AA a new fiscal year is opened via transaction AJRW in SAP ECC (This report is obsolete with SAP S/4HANA Finance).

Are you already on S/4HANA? If not, please execute transaction AJRW to see asset balances in for example asset explorer.

Yes we are on S/4 HANA .

I thought running the balance carry forward will also work for Assets in S/4 HANA but the balances are still not visible for the new year 2020
