askb and afab

hi,

1) AFAB makes the postings for all depreciations areas. since it is posting for all area why still need ASKB?

2) ASKB is to post assets periodically in General Ledger. those asset posting in GL is 2 will be posted via ASKB.

Why not post realtime?

3) posting to GL is to post depreciation value to GL? if yes, why there is askb as afab already can do the posting.

Hi,

AFAB Posts the Depreciation.

ASKB Posts the acquisition costs.

ASKB is not realtime due to resource concerns and due to issues of data validation. Note it is now possible to configure the system so that there is realtime posting, but for technical reasons you will still have to run ASKB at least once a year.

If APC is already getting posted in realtime to GL, why do we still need to run ASKB? it does not make sense. What is the technical reason here? If i run ASKB then wouldn't the APC cost get double posted?
