Anyone implemented Inspector Qualification?

Hi all

I'm trying to use Inspector Qualification to ensure only certain Users can record results for the specific Characteristics. I am trying this in Public Cloud, but I cannot get it to work. I would like to know the steps in any system as I am reading conflicting messages. During tracing my steps, the field is never called.
We are not implementing SAP HR.

Thanx
Corne

Hello,

I would like to point out the F1 help:

Inspector Qualification

Definition

Qualification that an inspector must have and, if necessary, validate in order to be able to conduct an inspection.

Use

This field has no controlling function. However, your entry is checked against a list of qualifications stored in the database.

Hope this answers your question. BR Ingo

Hi Ingo

I did see that, but the help.sap.com state the following in S/4HANA:

Inspector Qualification

For master inspection characteristics and inspection methods, you can define which qualifications an inspector must have, to carry out an inspection.

The inspector’s qualification that is used in the inspection plan is determined as follows:

  • If a master inspection characteristic for which you entered an inspector qualification is used in an inspection plan, the inspector qualification defined in the characteristic is valid in the plan.
  • If you reference a master inspection characteristic in the inspection plan to which an inspection method is assigned and if an inspector qualification is defined both in this inspection method and in the master inspection characteristic, the qualification defined in the method takes precedence in the plan.

Note

If you reference such a master inspection characteristic in the plan, you cannot overwrite the value for the inspector qualification. You can only change this value, if you copy the master inspection characteristic.

I am trying to find someone that has used this functionality by using a User Exit, BaDI, API or something to see if we can do something similar.

The inspector qualification is rather for documentation purposes. Your use case is not yet entirely clear...where should the check takes place? Brw. there is a similar requirement on the topic on the Customer Influence Portal https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/328791/

The check should be in the Record Results functionality. The client wants certain MIC's to have results recorded by only specific users. For example, MIC_0, no Qualification, MIC_1 have IQ01 and MIC_2 have IQ02. All Inspectors can record results for MIC_0. For Inspector 1 (IQ01) can record also MIC_1. Inspector 2 (IC02) can record results for MIC_2 also, and Inspector 3 (IQ01 and IQ02) can record results for all 3 MIC's. They want the MIC's preferably in one Operation.

I'm afraid there are no suitable enhancement options. The only workaround seems to be to go through different work centers
