Alternative options of Group reporting-1SG in SAP S/4 public cloud

Dear experts,

My client has a requirement to post elimination entries for consolidation purpose (within same geographical region) hence they need to set up consolidation elimination company code for this purpose in S/4 HANA public cloud.

I know this requirement can be met by activating 1SG scope item (Group reporting- Financial Consolidation) that incurs additional license costs, but I would like to know if this can be achieved without 1SG and what are the alternatives/considerations for the same. Anyone has experienced this kind of requirement in their projects on S/4 public cloud, please throw some insights.

Appreciate a quick advise on this.

for Scope item 1SG, Public cloud customers should be able to use a number of consolidation units free of charge(possibly 20),

there are a number of alternatives,  you could set up an elimination company code if the elimination scenarios are not complicated. and use Upload Journal Entries up to posting adjusting entries, and run financial reports including elimination company code to view consolidated reports.

another option is to extract financial data to a 3rd party system to do consolidations there

As I know there are no other standard solutions and you have to choose the Group reporting 1SG or ICMR(Intercompany Matching and Reconciliation) 40Y on Public Cloud Edition for your specified purpose.

Thanks Lucy, I did propose 40Y to the client which will meet their local intercompany reconciliation requirements.

However, they also need to set up a separate legal entity for the purpose of consolidation reporting/elimination postings of two different legal entities belonging to different geographies (Singapore and Australian disclosures). Based on my understanding and from your response, this needs 1SG (Group reporting) activation. Is that correct? or any other option in public cloud.
