Allocation BPC embedded (BPC and CO, or BPC)

Hi,

Apologies in advance for the long question. I’m new with BPC embedded, and we are analyzing where is the best option to perform the allocation. Use BPC only or BPC with CO.

BPC Embedded PAK provide the templates and planning function detailed below to run the allocation between cost center and sender cost center. Nerveless, I must adapt all this templates and logic because my client use “functional area” to do the allocation.

Templates:

Planning function:

On the other hand, PAK provide planning functions to move data between BPC and ERP.

Using this, I have the possibility to Plan all data in BPC and then, send the data to ERP, CO can use this data and perform the allocation. Then, I can retract the data distributed from ERP to BPC (Plan data transfer ERP-BPC).

As I have in CO allocations for Actual data, and Plan data are very similar we can reuse the configuration, so I avoid create all logic in BPC to allocate. We tested this approach and it working fine, nevertheless we are not sure which could be the best approach to develop.

Questions:

  • Which should be the best approach in this case, use BPC and CO, or develop all logic in BPC and generate the allocation directly in BPC.?
  • Planning sequence allow me to automatize more than one function to be run in one step (COPY-simulation- CLEAR DATA).

Thanks!

Kind Regards,
