Adoption of the EUR and new company code in EUR in Public Cloud

Hi, everyone,

We are implementing SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud at a large client in the manufacturing industry in Bulgaria.

Since Bulgaria's national currency is BGN, we have configured CBC in BGN as Local Currency and EUR as Group Currency. However, in relation to Bulgaria's adoption of the EURO most likely from 1 Jan 2026, we will now have to create a new company code in EUR once SAP releases the content for Bulgaria in EUR.

My questions are:

  • What is the fastest and most automated way to transfer the current configurations of the Development/Test/Production System into the new company code?
  • Has anyone used SAP's technical teams to make a system copy? If yes, how long did it take?

You can also share any other valuable lessons learned in relation to this topic.

Many thanks for your help,

Stella

Hello dear user,

And thank you for asking your question in the SAP Community blog.

How to transfer configuration to the new EUR company code using CBC

  • When SAP releases Bulgaria EUR content, you can create the new company code in CBC.
  • CBC lets you copy configuration objects (like chart of accounts, fiscal settings) from your existing BGN company code to the new EUR company code.
  • This is the most automated way within the Public Cloud just select relevant scopes and copy settings.
  • You’ll still need to manually review and adjust country-specific or currency-specific configs.

About SAP technical team and system copies

  • SAP does tenant refreshes (copy Prod to Dev/Test) on request, usually taking 1–2 weeks.
  • They do not do company code copies.
  • So new company codes with different currencies have to be set up and configured via CBC, not by system copy.

I hope this will help.

Best regards,

Jeremy
