Adding Long Term Backup to existing Contract - What are the options?

A customer has a 5 year contract starting 31-03-2022.

The customer want by 01-01-2025 to upgrade with the option: 8011088 SAP long-term backup, yearly backup with 4-year retention, private edition

Is this possible?

The 4 year option goes beyond 5 year contract end date (30-03-2027)!

So is the correct option for the request to hire the 3 year option (to include the remaining 2 year plus 3 month) or is the 2 year option the correct option?

• 8011086 SAP long-term backup, yearly cloud backup with 2-year retention, private edition
• 8011087 SAP long-term backup, yearly cloud backup with 3-year retention, private edition
• 8011088 SAP long-term backup, yearly backup with 4-year retention, private edition

Hi,

We cannot provide backup retention beyond the contract end date.

You can go for the 4-year retention, knowing this will effectively end on contract end date and only if customer choose to extend this will continue for the remaining period.

Normally a retention period is determined by legal or business requirements and this should be the determining factor of which to choose.
