Dear Experts,

May I request for your advice?

How does the sales area tax populate in Customer Mater Data?

This customer that we are setting up is based in Netherland and somehow in sales area tax, it is United Kingdom.

I tried to add a new tax classification or change it, it is not possible.

Thank you, appreciated

Hello,

Country key in the Sales Area Taxes appear based on the delivery plant assignment to Sales organization / Distribution channel. You can use the SSCUI 102287 (Assign Sales Organization - Distribution Channel - Plant) for this configuration.

thanks

Sai

Yes, Sales Organization and Distribution channel is for which you wish to create a Sales order. In your case GB. And the plant is from the location from where the inventory is delivered. Again, as you said its a domestic transaction, it can be a plant located in GB.

thanks

sai Thanks Sai. I think I get the picture now but my apologies, just to make sure, let me have one more follow-up question.

If the item is sold to European Countries and Asia, we need to set-up Export Taxes.

From Country GB

Destination to relevant countries - NL, FR, etc.

The problem is the customer tax classification where it is hard to put one-to-one relation with the provided standard Tax Code. If that is the case, what would be the impact of changing customer tax classification descriptions in SSCUI?

Sorry, I know that it is case by case but you can imagine and it will really great to have your input.

Thanks

Thanks Sai, as always!

May I understand in this way since our client is based in United Kingdom (GB), sales organization & plant are all based in United Kindom.

1. All the customer master data's sales area data will be in country "GB"

2. Set Tax Rates - Sales, only need to set-up domestic tax

Thank you
