Dear All,
I have an issue that will drive me mad
I hope you can review my issue and either explain the reason behind it, provide a solution, or at least share an example of how the Actual Cost Rate Calculation works.
All of the following examples are based on the starter system of a client.
I am unable to understand the results of the Actual Cost Rate Calculation – Cost Centers (KSII) run. Below, I have detailed the setup and the results for your review:
Cost Center | Activity Type | Fixed Rate | Per |
TEST_COST2 | Testl2 | 170 | 1 Hour |
TEST_COST2 | TestM2 | 100 | 1 Hour |
Process Order ID | Activity Type | Confirmed Quantity | Allocation Cost Element | Total Cost |
800006 | Testl2 | 2 H | 94311000 (Pers hrs) | 340 EGP |
800006 | TestM2 | 2 H | 94301000 (Machine hrs 1) | 200 EGP |
800007 | Testl2 | 1 H | 94311000 (Pers hrs) | 170 EGP |
800007 | TestM2 | 2 H | 94301000 (Machine hrs 1) | 200 EGP |
From the images, I understand that the cost elements that will post in the debit side to the cost center, which are included in cost element group YBMF_P04, will be used to recalculate the actual cost for the activity types included in activity type group YBMF_P04. The same applies for cost element group YBMF_P05 and activity type group YBMF_P05.
After that, I posted the primary cost elements included in the cost element groups I created earlier to cost center TEST_COST2, with the amounts shown in the table below:
G/L Account ID | G/L Account Description | Amounts |
61100000 | Payroll Expense - Salaries | 900 EGP |
63001000 | Electricity and other Utilities | 500 EGP |
And that was the cost center booklet report before executing the Actual Cost Rate Calculation - Cost Centers (KSII).
Based on my expectations and my understanding of the assignments in the splitting structure, the system should recalculate the actual cost of the activity types as follows:
However, when I execute the Actual Cost Rate Calculation, I receive a result that I cannot understand.
Notes Regarding the messages and warnings shown in the attachment is not related to the cost center and activity types in the case that I have explained
So kindly help me understand and solve this issue
Best regards,
Mostafa Mahmoud

Hello @mostafa_mahmoud1811_598 ,
Thank you for your feedback and great follow-up
Here’s a simple, straightforward fix for KSII shows no data in S/4HANA Cloud (Public):
Run the right period version
KSII must be executed for the correct controlling area, version 0, fiscal year/period. Help.SAP-Actual Cost Rate Calculation
Check that prerequisites exist in that period
The cost center includes activity type(s) with Actual Price Indicator set to 005.
You have posted actual primary costs and recorded actual activity quantities; otherwise, KSII has no data to price.

Maintain splitting when there are multiple activity types. Define and validate the Splitting Structure (SSCUI 104795) before running Split Costs – Actual (KSS2), then proceed with KSII. Missing or empty splitting means there are no amounts to process price. SAP Support Portal-3352159 - No entries available in Configuration Activity "Define Splitting Struct...
Re-run KSII and review the log. Use the Actual Cost Rate Calculation -Cost Centers (KSII) application to check for any zero or missing lines in the log.
