hello everyone,
Can anyone help me out about the concept of account segmentation. how to implement it into SAP B1. what all are the advantages of it.
Regards,
Meghana
HI , Meghana ,
The Accounts Segmentation is basically used , when u have different division or Segments (Segments means different Criteria where you can classify your Company) , under a Single Entity of Company.
This functionality of SAP fulfills the needs of the Different tracking of the Balance Sheet , Trial Balance and the Transaction of Segments.
To monitor the Segment wise P&L , work efficiency and many more in the Single entity (Company).
Hope it helps.
Thanks

Hi.......
When you create New Company Go to Company Details and Tick On Account Segmentation Box in Basic Initialization Tab.
This should be done before creating Charts of Accounts.
You get some options enabled as Account Code generator, Segments......
Note. While creating new company the COA Type should be User Defined............
When you get this to do you will come to know how it works in terms of accounts......
Try this.

Rahul

Hi Meghana......
The account system in SAP Business One lets you build accounts based on segments. This option is used mainly in the USA.
You define account segmentation when you create a new company. Once accounts have been created, you will not be able to change back.
Account segmentation is used Segment the Charts of Accounts.
Let say if you have one company but have more than One Branches and need to maintain only one DB under which you want Branch wise financial separation. Like Separate BL, P&L etc. So Account Segmentation is useful for that......
